Isaac Anderson is the 2016-17 Milton Fellow at Image and Seattle Pacific University. He grew up in south Texas and Kansas City. His work has appeared in Image, Fourth Genre, Portland Magazine, The Atlantic, Los Angeles Review of Books, and elsewhere, and his essay “Lord God Bird” received honorable mention in Best American Essays. He holds an MFA in creative writing from the Ohio State University and has taught at Ohio State, Lenoir-Rhyne University, and Western Theological Seminary.
Isaac will be reading essays from his manuscript-in-progress titled This Is How the End Begins, which considers subjects such as American identities and rituals, fidelity, addiction, loneliness and prayer, and faith as a meaning-making instrument and as a spur to wrestling with the unknown.
This reading is free and open to the public. Q&A and dessert reception to follow.
